What Is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is helping patients love to smile...again!

We are proud to offer our patients the Invisalign®, a modern approach to straightening teeth. Invisalign® uses a series of clear plastic aligners, instead of metal wires and brackets, to gradually move the teeth into a smile you will be proud of.

Our patients choose Invisalign® to:

  • Straighten your teeth
  • Close Spacing Gaps
  • Reduce Crowding
  • Treat Jaw Pain
  • Reduce Gum Recession
  • Improve or Change Bite (Overbite, Underbite, or Crossbite)

Invisalign is not just about straightening teeth, but can be a catalyst to treating other conditions, such as:

  • Periodontal Disease – Swollen, red gums could be caused from crowded or wide spaces
  • Jaw Relationship Issues – If you have a bad bite, you could put more pressure or forces on your some of your teeth which can cause loss of enamel or tooth structure and cause sensitivity. This sensitivity could be the beginning of much more costly dental needs that could arise such as the need for root canals and/or crowns.

Advantages of Invisalign®:

  • Convenient and easy
  • Aligners are removable
  • Enjoy all your favorite foods
  • Brush and floss with ease
  • Aligners are virtually invisible
  • No metal wires or bands to irritate your mouth
  • Most people won’t even notice you are undergoing treatment

Invisalign® FAQ

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses clear, removable aligners to straighten teeth. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible, making them a discreet option for improving your smile.

How does Invisalign® work?

Invisalign® aligners are custom-made based on a 3D scan of your teeth. Over time, you’ll wear a series of aligners that gradually shift your teeth into the desired position. Each set of aligners is typically worn for 1-2 weeks before switching to the next set.

Is Invisalign® right for me?

Invisalign® is suitable for most patients with mild to moderate orthodontic issues, such as crowding, gaps, or minor bite problems. A consultation with our dental team will help determine if it’s the best option for you.

How long does Invisalign® treatment take?

The length of treatment depends on the complexity of your case but typically lasts between 12 to 18 months. Your dentist will provide a personalized treatment plan during your consultation.

How often do I need to wear the aligners?

For best results, Invisalign® aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours a day. They should only be removed for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing or flossing your teeth.

Can I eat or drink with my aligners in?

You should remove your aligners when eating or drinking anything other than water. This helps prevent staining or damage to the aligners and ensures they stay clean and effective.

How do I clean my Invisalign® aligners?

Aligners can be cleaned by gently brushing them with a toothbrush and rinsing with lukewarm water. You can also use Invisalign® cleaning crystals or special cleaning solutions recommended by M Dental.

Are there any restrictions on what I can eat during treatment?

One of the advantages of Invisalign® is that there are no food restrictions! Since you remove the aligners to eat, you can enjoy all your favorite foods without worry.

Will wearing Invisalign® affect my speech?

Some patients experience a slight lisp when they first start wearing Invisalign®, but this typically goes away after a few days as your mouth adjusts to the aligners.

How much does Invisalign® cost?

The cost of Invisalign® varies depending on the complexity of your case. Our dental team will provide a detailed estimate during your consultation, and we offer flexible payment options to help make treatment affordable.

Do I need to visit the dentist regularly during Invisalign® treatment?

Yes, you’ll need to visit the dentist every 6 to 8 weeks to monitor your progress and receive new aligners. These checkups ensure your treatment is on track.

Is Invisalign® covered by insurance?

Many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign® treatment just like traditional braces. Our office can help you understand your coverage and maximize your benefits.
